Faith For Today

I have noticed that people today are looking everywhere for answers. They are looking for something to believe in. But the answers they are finding are not necessarily the right ones. You see, we tend to look for answers in all the wrong places. We go to doctors and lawyers. Or we turn to drugs, alcohol, or sex. Maybe we look to teachers or politicians. There is only one place we can go. There is only one person who has the truth. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we can go BOLDLY to the throne of grace (God) that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. The problem is that people tend to be far to proud to be willing to humble themselves at the feet of God. We want to be in charge. We want to be the boss. We want to be in control. But let me tell you, when I was in control of my life, it was a total wreck. Oh sure, I tried to do the right things. I wanted to be nice to people. I wanted to have the perfect life. But you know what??? I failed miserably. It's like Paul says in the book of Romans, "For I know that in me (that is in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not (7:18). It doesn't matter how hard we try to what is right, we will still fall short of the goal. The best thing that we can do is trust God save us from ourselves. When we learn to trust more in Him then we can say of ourselves, "There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit." (Romans 8:1) God isn't looking for people who are already perfect. He is looking for someone who is willing to get on the potter's wheel and be recreated in the perfect image of God. Are you willing to submit your life into the hands of the potter? Think about it and pray about it. But don't wait too long, afterall time is very short.
